Tara Hendricks is a soul-pop artist with a throwback vibe, based in Philadelphia.

With the help of her live band, she puts on a riveting, high-energy, feel-good and soulful experience that continually wows audiences of all kinds. The set consists of a mix of old (and new) school soul, funk, r&b and pop – both original and cover material customized for the audience. They are seasoned performers who have opened for Grammy-winning artists (Leela James, Chrisette Michele, The Brand New Heavies, Jaguar Wright) as well as headlining at Penn’s Landing, Camden Waterfront, World Cafe Live, Welcome America Fest, PA Convention Center, among others.

With her powerhouse voice, contagious energy and charismatic songs, Tara has been called “Philly’s next signature voice” (The Daily News). Drawing inspiration from Aretha Franklin to EnVogue, from Janelle Monae to Sia, Hendricks’ blend of soul, pop, funk and r&b has wide appeal, with her vocal dexterity and fiery stage presence selling out shows and earning her the reputation as one of the hardest-working independents around.

Releasing several self-written indie projects has garnered the songstress numerous accolades including Philadelphia City Paper’s “10 Artists To Watch,” as well as performances alongside the likes of Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Amy Winehouse, Chrisette Michele, and newcomers ZZ Ward and Kat Dahlia. Since then, She has released several original singles and most recently, a holiday EP entitled Wonderland, streaming everywhere and available on Bandcamp.
